Summer at the Vineyard

The sun hung clear in the air, raining down its radiant rays, as busy birds bustled about, grinding away at the day's work. Marelo brought his hatchling daughter along to help with the harvest, though inevitably, she hopped along to happier things. Marelo didn't pay it much mind. Innocence was such a joy to indulge in.

After giving the workbirds their assignments, they fluttered in, out, and around the vine rows, all falling in to the adjacent stucco workhouse time and again. The workhouse was the hub of the workday, sheltering their tools and supplies and providing shade for rest as the weary workbirds watered themselves down in a drink.

Before getting to his own share of the work, Marelo shared a word with a fellow former officer of the Artimea. The fresh, bold red dye on the Teal bird's wing rang it clear, if the poor birds missing wing didn't do so already. The two lightly dipped into memory to reminisce, as the Teal bird's own hatchling weaved his way out of work.
